Research Centre of Biomass Valorization

RCBV FTUI is a research centre focused on the processing and valorisation of agricultural waste (lignocellulosic, lipid, organic and inorganic waste) into chemical products that can be used as raw materials for agricultural-based industries. RCBV FTUI has a roadmap until 2034 which is divided into several phases including initiation and consolidation; exposure and capability; maturity; and contribution. With four key indicators of excellence that have been determined, namely superior research; dissemination of research results in the form of publications / intellectual property rights; dissemination of research results in the form of prototypes; and commercial superior products. From these four key indicators, a gap analysis was produced in the form of agricultural waste processing, quantity and quality of research, improving the quality of research publications and cooperation with industry to commercialise the research results produced by researchers at RCBV FTUI.
